Three services cover the whole distance between no brand and a printed product on a shelf.
Murevix runs as a brand identity studio and a packaging design consultant under one roof, but the three engagements below are scoped, staffed and billed separately, because the deliverables at the end of each one are genuinely different documents.
Brand Identity Development
Name-adjacent visual systems — logo, type, color, voice — scoped as a fixed project fee after a discovery call, ending in a bound, printed guideline document.
View servicePackaging Design & Structure
Structural and graphic packaging design for cartons, rigid boxes, pouches, labels and bottles, quoted per SKU or per packaging system, with a studio press check on the first run.
View serviceBrand & Packaging Audit
A flat fee, one-time working session against shelf and category comparisons — a diagnosis, not an open-ended review with no fixed end.
View serviceHow the three actually differ
Most confusion on a first call is about scope, not price. This table sets out what each service starts from, what it hands back, and how long it typically runs — the specifics live on each service's own page.
| Basis | Brand Identity Development | Packaging Design & Structure | Brand & Packaging Audit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting point | A product or company with no visual system, or one that no longer fits | A named SKU or packaging system that needs structure, graphics, or both | An existing brand and package that needs an honest read against its category |
| Price basis | Fixed project fee, scoped after a discovery call | Quoted per SKU or per packaging system | Flat fee, one-time working session |
| Ends with | Bound, printed guideline document plus vector source files | Dieline files, structural PDFs, print-ready graphics, a press check | Written findings against named category comparisons |
| Does not include | Packaging structure — that's scoped separately once the system exists | Brand strategy from scratch — the identity should already exist or be in progress | Execution — the audit diagnoses, it does not redesign |
| Typical duration | Weeks, depending on scope — full range is on the process page | Weeks per SKU, plus press-check lead time | One session, booked in advance |
Numbers vary by project; the ranges above describe how the studio typically scopes each service, not a fixed quote.
Where the two disciplines meet
Packaging design for consumer products rarely survives contact with an identity system built in isolation from it. Murevix treats the two as sequential parts of one job more often than as two separate contracts.
A brand identity project that never touches a real packaging format tends to produce a logo that looks correct on a business card and falls apart at the two-inch scale a jar lid allows, or in one spot color on kraft board. A packaging project handed a logo with no system behind it — no defined secondary color, no rule for how the mark sits on a curved surface — ends up improvising decisions that should have been made once, in writing, and then reused. Running both under one studio means the same five people who set the Pantone numbers are the ones checking that they hold on press.
This is also why the audit exists as its own service rather than a free add-on to the other two. Not every brand that calls needs a full identity rebuild or a packaging redesign — some need one working session that says plainly which of the two, if either, is the actual problem, and which comparisons on the shelf prove it.
Still not sure which one applies?
The finder takes a short description of what's wrong with the current identity or package and routes to the service that fits, or to a plain conversation if nothing scores cleanly.
Questions before a call
Can we start with the audit and decide later?
Yes, and it's a common way in. As a brand audit service, it's a flat fee, one working session, and it usually ends with a clear recommendation toward identity work, packaging work, both, or neither yet.
Do you ever combine identity and packaging into one contract?
Often, when a new product needs both from zero. The work is still scoped and priced as two line items so it's clear what belongs to which deliverable, but the calendar and the team are shared.
What if we only need packaging and the logo is staying the same?
That's most of the packaging service's caseload. We work from the identity as it exists, flag anywhere it doesn't hold up on the substrate you've picked, and scope only the structural and graphic packaging work.
Is there a minimum project size?
There's no published minimum, but a single SKU with no category comparison and no defined shelf tends to be better served by the audit first. That call is free to have.
